Volker Wessels Telecom Network Solutions designs, develops, builds, and maintains wireless and mobile networks and builds supporting structures at high altitude. They are involved in the construction of several dozen nationwide sites for the Ministry of Interior’s Mobile Services C2000 network. The latest of systems, C2000 provides a nationwide network to emergency services allowing communication between police, emergency workers, and the control rooms.

Fortan got a role in the development and production of a series of these sites. Our office in Elst did the main design on both 44m and 52m type antenna lattice structure steel masts. Engineers at the Fortan Chişinău Moldova office used Inventor 3-D software during the detailing of the manufacturing drawings. Manufacturing, galvanizing, painting, and transportation to the construction site was all controlled, managed, and maintained by Fortan Elst.

Another task within VolkerWessels Network Solutions was providing high voltage masts to electricity transmission system operator TenneT. Previous experience on 3-D designing and detailing of high voltage pylons could again be applied by Fortan’s engineers. Their insight in the 3-D environment and skills with the Tekla Structures software allowed them to expertly model a complex form as a lattice steel tower. The software driven automatically generated manufacturing drawings were accurate and accelerated the production process rapidly.
